Matthew 28:18-20
These scriptures clearly communicate the agenda of Jesus’ followers. That is to be involved in “Making Jesus Known” to all peoples. Here at Christian Chapel, we embrace our part in obeying Jesus through Intentional Missions strategies; through partnering with those serving here locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Christian Chapel has a very long history of investing itself in fulfilling Christ’s agenda.
I invite you to consider teaming with us either through praying for Missionaries, giving to the many effective/fruitful works, or perhaps participating in a short term missions trip – here or around the world. By His Grace, ~Mike
Mike and Amy have been married since 1988 and have been a part of missions for over 20 years. They have one son, David.

Steven Pickford
My wife Cheryl and I were married in 1977 and have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, and three beautiful, precious grandchildren.
Cheryl and I have been involved in ministry and discipleship for over 35 years and have a heart for families. We have led marriage classes, parenting classes, and financial classes – all are areas that challenge marriages, family, and the Christian life. But I believe none challenge the Christian life more than those faced by men as leaders of their home. These are single men, husbands, and fathers facing the world today and all that’s in it with all the negative stereotypes of men that goes with it.
My desire at Christian Chapel is to help all men grow in Christian manhood, bonded in faith, to overcome the falsehoods of those world stereotypes, to become strong, respected men of faith who will lead their families, their church, and their communities. Please come join us. Email: ccagvbmensministry@gmail.com

Cheryl Pickford
“They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, ‘The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him’.” Psalm 92:14-15
“My husband Steve and I both grew up in Michigan and met while in college. We married in 1977 and raised two children, while Steve’s career moved us around the country. We faithfully attended church throughout our marriage and served in lay ministry, but it was not until the age of 38 that my relationship with Jesus moved to a personal one instead of works-based. God led us to the Assemblies of God in 1999 and it was there that I received the call to Pastoral Ministry. I have had the privilege to serve on pastoral teams in Michigan, Tennessee, and now Virginia.
I joined the staff of Christian Chapel in January of 2014 as Small Groups Pastor and transitioned to Women’s Ministry Pastor in August of 2019. My role is to assist women in building friendships with one another and providing ministry opportunities for women that will impact our community for Jesus. I love encouraging people in their walk with Our Lord, helping them grow deeper in their relationship with Him and one another, and strengthening their marriages and families.” ~ Cheryl

Sean Conant
“To live by grace means to acknowledge my whole life story, the light side and the dark. In admitting my shadow side I learn who I am and what God’s grace means.”

As Worship Director, Sean works to create an environment where God is worshiped and exalted first and foremost and worshipers can encounter God. Mixing different styles of music, Sean attempts to appeal to a broad audience of worshipers. In addition to leading the music department, Sean also enjoys being involved in other church activities such as the Family Olympics, Trunk or Treat and various video productions.

Ralph Styron
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Ralph began attending Christian Chapel in the late 1990’s and began teaching a children’s class in early 2000. In 2017 he was asked by Pastor Tom to take the job of Children’s Ministry Director.
I truly believe the message of Proverbs 22:6. Unfortunately, we see less and less of raising children in the way they should go. Instead our American society appears to be growing increasingly hostile to Christian values and, in fact, to Christianity itself. With this in mind it is ever more important to instill our Christian values in the next generation.
My goal for the Children’s ministry is to provide the kids with not just an understanding of what our values are, but also a practical understanding that they are given to us by our creator for our benefit and protection. If we adhere to them, we can, and will, avoid a great many of life’s pitfalls and live lives which are pleasing to God and be happier as well.
We strive for a fun, safe environment for the children to learn in. My intentions and goals are for the kids to look forward to coming to church.
