Next Steps
Paul writes to the Philippians about obedience and working out their salvation. This is sanctification - the next steps after we have been saved. Each day we become stronger, by working out spiritually thru prayer, reading our Bible, regular worship attendance and fellowship with other Christians. This is the encouragement Paul gives to the Philippians that carries thru today. We should, and we must! Scripture basis from Phil. 2:12-18 Other scripture cited: Phil. 1:6-7 Eph. 2:8-9 Rom. 6:11-12 I Thes. 4:3 Phil. 2:3-4 II Cor. 5:10 Rom. 8:29-30

    Tell a Friend
Pastor Tom encourages us to tell a friend about Jesus and your own story about how you know him, how He has impacted you, and what He means to you. In John 1:35-49 the scripture tells how John and other disciples told others about Jesus and pointed them to Him as the Messiah, son of God and the King - our Savior. And we have been instructed by Jesus himself to do the same. Make Jesus Known!

    Christmas in August?
Christmas in August? The Good News associated with Christmas is good news in August too! It IS good news EVERY day, and news that everyone needs to hear just like the shepherds heard from the angels in their fields way back in that Christmas story. This story has to be told, and WE need to tell it, to the one on your right, the one on your left, morning, noon, and night!

"Having then gifts deferring according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them..."
Get into the Gifted Program! God has given us each Spiritual Gifts to help others to get closer to Him. It's not a question of IF you have gifts as a Christian but what those gifts are. Each of us are different. Find ways to learn more of what yours are, and as commanded, use them to expand and strengthen the Kingdom. It is not optional and using them will bring you joy.

Do I have to Speak in Tongues?
Supernatural speech, known as speaking in tongues, is normal and not to be feared. It follows Biblical precedent where both spontaneous Spirit-inspired speech and prophetic declarations are documented in both the Old and the New Testaments, and is what makes the Gospel go.

    The Promise
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit for our lives. It is not an option in the Christian's life. It is the needed center of the Christian's life. It is the engine, pulling you forward, carrying you through a life in Christ through this world.

    Reckless Grace
God's love is so great that He continues to look for us, to be with us, to be available such that when we are ready He is ready for us to acknowledge Him and His Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. A chance for us to turn our own love to Him in recognition of just how much He loved us regardless of how unlovable we have been. We can do this anytime, anywhere. He's waiting and ready!
